Giveaway Day!
Today is giveaway day! It's our last giveaway for Round 2 so make sure to comment before Sunday for your chance to win!

Today's question is about picnics, of course. Do you like or dislike picnics? Do you have a favorite blanket? Did you make it? What are your favorite picnic foods? Do you have a favorite picnicking memory?
I'm crazy about picnics! I look forward to picnic season all year long. I design picnic quilts in the middle of the winter, just so I'll be ready when the time comes to use them. To me, there's nothing better to do on a summer's afternoon. My boyfriend and I usually go to the park by his house and order seafood from the restaurant there. When we're not in the mood for that, we bring freshly baked bread (Ian makes it) and various cheeses and fruit. I made a new picnic blanket last summer that's just big enough for two people. We haven't picnicked yet this year but we will soon!

Giveaway Day!
Today is giveaway day! For a chance to win this quilted wall hanging, comment before I draw a name on Sunday:

Today's questions (should you chose to answer any of them) are: how many quilts have you finished? How many did you keep and how many did you give away? Which was your favorite and why? Do you have a picture to share?
In my four years of quilting, I finished twelve quilts and I only kept three! My favorite is the quilt I sort of accidentally made for a giveaway on my blog last year.

Giveaway Winner!
I apologize for the lateness of the giveaway drawing but sometimes life just gets in the way. So, with the help of a co-worker (in place of random.org), this week's winner is Jewel. An email is on its way!
If you have a chance, check out Jewel's lovely blog. She's up to quite a few things including the Pinwheel Sampler and Hexagon quilt-alongs. I'm quite excited to try a hexagon quilt for myself. Or, you know, at least a block or two before I move on to another project.
Anyway, this week's block tutorial will be up in a little bit. It's another one of my favorites, of course.

Giveaway Day!
It's giveaway day again! To win this week's project, hand made by yours truly, comment below before I pick a winner on Sunday.

Speaking of hand quilting...everyone seems to be catching the bug lately. I blame Anna Maria Horner for her beautiful and bold stitches. In fact, Jen is even planning to hand quilt her Modify Tradition quilt from Round 1! She even found this great deal on Perle cotton thread. I've just placed my order! You know, for when I somehow have time to hand quilt something.
So, the question for today is: have you ever hand quilted a quilt of any size? If you have, feel free to link to a picture so we can all see. If you haven't (or if you have), what's your favorite quilt that you've made? Why is it your favorite? Again, link to pictures if you want.

This week's giveaway winner is commenter #17...Barb! Seriously, you should check out her blog. I'm especially in love with the quilt she made for DQS8. I love that green!
Anyway, stay tuned...Jennifer has a really neat block for us tomorrow.

Giveaway Day!
I can't believe it's Thursday already...but it is and that means it's giveaway day. To win this little drawstring bag (filled with various goodies), comment below before I pick a winner on Sunday.

I don't have a bag-related question so I'll ask a getting to know you question: why did you start quilting? Why do you quilt now? I know not all of you are quilters so: why did you start knitting/crocheting/painting/whatever you love to do that's creative? Why do you continue creating?
In case you're interested, here's why I quilt and here's why I crochet. If you've already written a post about this, feel free to link it so we can go check it out!

Giveaway Day!
Today is giveaway day! To win the travel checkers, comment below before I pick a winner on Sunday.

And speaking of travel, what was your favorite vacation? What's your favorite vacation destination?
My favorite trip as a kid was the summer my family and I drove to the west coast, camping the entire way. It was my first time seeing the ocean and the water was surprisingly (and disappointingly) cold off the Oregon coast. My favorite vacation as an adult was the trip Ian and I took to Venice a few years ago. I'd love to go back for a weekend during Carnival. So what about you? Where do you love to visit?

Giveaway Winner!
Before I announce the winner of the quatrefoil table runner, I wanted to thank you all for letting us into your studio this week. It was really fun reading all your comments.
So, I didn't feel like making 89 slips of paper (seriously? 89 comments? I still can't believe it!) so I had my boyfriend push the button at random.org.
And the winner is...#11...Kati! An email is on its way.
Thanks for everyone for playing along this week and for making this our most popular giveaway so far!

Giveaway Day!
It's giveaway day again! We're giving away this red/aqua table runner but you should know, I really do want to keep this for myself. So, comment before I change my mind pick a winner on Sunday.

And our question for today is: what else goes on in your studio while you're working? Do you watch movies or listen to music or chat with friends while you sew? Do you prefer silence? I love to watch bright cheerful tv shows like Gilmore Girls or costume movies like Marie Antoinette. I can't talk on the phone or have friends over because I get absolutely nothing done. What about you?

Winner!
Hey everyone! I can't believe how late it is...this daylight savings time is already messing with my head. Anyway, this week's winner is Misha! And in case you were curious, her favorite color combination is green, purple and orange.
I wanted to thank you all for entering this week's drawing and for sharing your favorite color combinations. It was my favorite question so far because I just love talking about color.
Also, tomorrow's block features a combination that came up a lot in the comments and it's my first time trying the combination for myself. Here's hoping I did it right. :)

Giveaway Day!
Today is giveaway day! I'm only giving away the pillow cover so if you win, you'll need your own 18" pillow (or pillow-form). To make up for that annoyance, I'll include some other treats as well.

I'll draw a winner on Sunday so comment below before then.
So, my question for today is: what's your favorite color combination? It could be for decorating, for clothing or for whatever. My current favorite is teal and orange or pretty much anything paired with magenta (this is a fairly new obsession and it confuses me). For decorating...I think I'm an aqua sort of girl even though I haven't taken the time to decorate my house at all. But if I did, I think I'd paint every room aqua. Seriously. So, what about you?

Giveaway Day!
I can't believe it's giveaway day already! This week is going fast (and kind of slow) and I'm surprised I remembered it was Thursday. I've been so confused.
Anyway, today we're giving away this spring-y tote bag:

For a chance to win, comment before I draw names on Sunday. I'm a bit headachy today and I'm having a hard time coming up with a question. For now, all I can think of is: what sort of things would you carry around if you won this bag? (I'm secretly hoping you choose something craft related because I want to see what you're working on. Feel free to link to a picture!)
I don't have any portable projects going right now but I'd definitely carry my Kindle and a snack (preferably gummy bears or similar). Oh, and it would be springtime and I'd be on a nature walk. And my boyfriend could come too. But he'd eat all the gummies so maybe not...

Giveaway Winner!
I'm happy to report that the drawing is late today because I've been sewing nonstop since 10am. I hardly ever get an entire sewing day! This means I'm not at my boyfriend's house so I have no cats to help me pick a winner! So, Random.org to the rescue! The winner is:

Comment #4...Jen! Jen has been quilting along with us since round 1. Check out her blog to see what else she's been up to. I'm especially in love with her Hello Betty quilt.

Giveaway Week 4
Today is giveaway day! You know the drill...comment below to win this rice heating bag and cover. I'll pick a winner on Sunday.

So, today I'm wondering...are you a night person or a morning person? I am most definitely a morning person. In one morning hour I can accomplish something that would take three evening hours. I usually don't get anything important done after 9pm. In fact, just about the only thing that can keep me up late is finishing a quilt. I try to sew the binding by hand all in one night...you know, because I'm impatient like that. How about you?

It's Thursday which means it's giveaway day! Up for grabs is our double-sided, one-size-fits-all tea towel apron...complete with darling patchy pocket:

Although I don't wear them, I have a few of my great grandma's homemade aprons (more like smocks, really). So today's question (which you don't have to answer to win) is: do you have any hand-me-down treasures? Feel free to link to pictures if you have them...I'm sure we'd all love to see!
