Courthouse Steps

This block is a Log Cabin variation.  It's very simple and intuitive to put together.   I, of course, think it is modern in its simplicity.  We'll see if you agree!

Materials:
2 Fabrics (A, B)
Cutting tools


Step 1: Cut as follows
Fabric A: 12.5" x 2.5" (cut 2), 8.5" x 2.5" (cut 2), 4.5" x 4.5"
Fabric B: 8.5" x 2.5" (cut 2), 4.5" x 2.5" (cut 2)

Step 2
Using 1/4" seam, sew each 4.5" strip (Fabric B) to your 4.5" x 4.5" square (Fabric A). Press seams.

Step 3
Using 1/4" seam, add each 8.5" strip (Fabric A). Press seams.

Step 4
Using 1/4" seam, add each 8.5" strip (Fabric B). Press seams.

Using 1/4" seam, add each 12.5" strip (Fabric A). Press seams.  You're finished!
