Amish Diamond Tutorial

12

Step 1: Cut fabric as follows:

1

Fabric A: cut 4 - 3.5”x3.5”
Fabric B: cut 4 – 3.5”x6.5”
Fabric C: cut 4 - 3.5”x3.5”
Fabric D: cut 1 - 6.5”x6.5”

Step 2: First we need to assemble the center square.

Draw diagonal lines on the backs of all fabric C.

2

Place two squares onto opposite corners of fabric D, right sides together.

3

Sew just to the right of the line (the side away from the center of the square). This will ensure that the block is big enough once we've sewn all four corners.

4

Cut 1/4" from seam and save triangles for a bonus block (tutorial will be up later today).

5

Iron seam to the side or open. Place the last two squares of fabric C onto fabric D and sew as before.

6

7

Trim and save triangles.

8

Iron open or to the side, trim block to 6.5" x 6.5". Arrange your fabric and sew into rows:

9

10

Sew your rows to complete the block.

11

Trim to 12.5" x 12.5"
