Skinny Nine Patch

Want something a little different?  Follow this tutorial to make a Nine Patch variation

Cutting tools
Fabric A
Fabric B
Fabric C

Step 1 - Cut as follows.
Fabric A (purple):  4.5” x 5” (cut 2)
Fabric B (green):  4.5” x 5”, 8.5” x 4.5” (cut 2)
Fabric C (white):  8.5” x 4.5”

Please ignore that this picture doesn't show correctly cut fabric.  I messed up but was too lazy to take a new picture.

Step 2

Sew pieces along the 5” edge in order  A-B-A.  Sew pieces together along the 8.5” in order B-C-B.  Sew using a ¼” seam.  Press seams to one side.

Step 3

Cut your A-B-A patch along the 5” edge.  You will now have two 2.5" wide skinny A-B-A patches.

Step 4

Sew your two skinny patches to the top and bottom of your B-C-B patch.  Press seams open
and iron your block.  Voila!  You are done.
